In July 2021, HRH The Prince of Wales and Sir Jony Ive (RCA Chancellor) launched the Terra Carta Design Lab. It’s part of the Sustainable Markets Initiative and is in collaboration with the Royal College of Art. They tasked students and alumni of the College with developing credible solutions to the climate crisis which businesses around the globe could implement.
In April 2022 the four winners from the Royal College of Art were announced. The winning designs tackled issues within the textiles, farming, vehicles and plant and tree restoration sectors. These included: a harness for cows, a device to capture particles of rubber on car tyres, sustainable, recyclable, waterproof, breathable textiles, and a device to spread seeds.
We were tasked with not only generating coverage on the winners, but also showing the type of world class design work students at the RCA were producing.
As a result, we harboured coverage on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC News, Sky News, BBC World Service, BBC Radio 2, Times Radio, talkRADIO, talkSPORT, and 9 BBC regional stations.
