One of our key roles in the Newsroom is diagnosing the calendar hooks which offer opportunities for brand spokespeople to share their insight on national news. When Bosco approached Broadcast Revolution, we ensured their spokesperson was prepared for Black Friday through media training, securing coverage that “opened doors” and made real business impact. 

Who Are They: ASK BOSCO® is an AI-powered digital marketing analytics platform that helps retail (and other) brands make better, data-driven decisions.

Objective: To raise BOSCO’s profile as a leading voice on retail and the high street through their founder and spokesperson John Readman. 

The Challenge: Diagnosing opportunities for John Readman to share his expertise as a retail expert and ensure he was “newsroom-ready” to seize them. 

What We Delivered: We’ve been working closely with retail expert John Readman since 2022 to help raise the profile of his company BOSCO, which gives insights and analysis to businesses and retailers online. After making John newsroom-ready through media training delivered by our knowledgeable and experienced team, we were able to offer John to national broadcasters and secure broadcast coverage around a key calendar event in retail that always drives news coverage – Black Friday.

The News Agenda Hook: Black Friday is one of the biggest shopping days of the year, and we ensured that John was ready to offer his thoughts and predictions for how well he thought this day would go, as well as being able to give his insight into how vital the period is for hard-pressed retailers. We secured interviews for John on BBC World, BBC News, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Scotland, GB News and LBC News.

The Impact: Since this success, we have been able to offer John for other key moments in the retail/news calendar, such as monthly retail figures. After a series of media interviews, John told us he’s now getting meetings and access to far bigger clients himself because they’ve seen him achieve such a significant national media profile. “Doors have opened for him” thanks to his appearance on national news and work with our newsroom team.
