We worked with the National Pharmacy Association on the call for pharmacies to not be taken for granted.
The pandemic has further highlighted the wonders the UK healthcare sector provides, with health often being front and centre of our news and thoughts. Pharmacy teams have been at the forefront of this. They have been working flat out on the NHS frontline to keep regular services while meeting vastly increased demand because of coronavirus.
That’s why we were delighted to be able to support the National Pharmacy Association as they call for pharmacies and the people who work there not to be taken for granted. This rally for support is especially prevalent as a report showed that pharmacies in England face a funding gap of half a billion pounds, and many could close unless there is more investment.
So, on World Pharmacists Day, Andrew Lane, Chair, and Nick Kaye, Vice-Chair, both of the National Pharmacy Association, discussed what needs to be done by the government to help support our local pharmacists.
We garnered coverage from Andrew and Nick on Sky News, BBC News, LBC News, BBC London, BBC Oxford, ITV Borders, and Times Radio.
