At Broadcast Revolution, media relations is at the heart of what we do. Our work incorporates both tv PR and radio PR and this is across both national and regional broadcasters.

Our aim when it comes to media relations is to support our clients in getting out the key messages to top tier broadcast outlets. This is part of one of our core values which is that we would rather secure coverage on fewer quality outlets, than secure coverage on multiple outlets with broadcasters that will not have the same impact. Though, we also pride ourselves on adapting media aims for each client. This is due to the fact that certain campaigns are more suited to national coverage and others to regional coverage and this changes from client to client and campaign to campaign.

Our specialist team of five combined, have over 50 years of broadcast experiencein tv and radio PR, and as a result we have an extensive database of media contacts, and great relationships with national and regional media. This means that we always have up to date knowledge on what different programmes are looking for and what would programmes would work well for our clients based on the client values and messaging.

You might find that tv PR and radio PR differs slightly at Broadcast Revolution in comparison to other agencies in the sense that we offer media relations services within two realms.

1) Proactive campaigns
This type of campaign is the one most people are aware of in the fact that it is the announcement type of campaign. When a new product is being released, when a feature has been added or announcement has been planned in advance we work on proactive campaigns where we plan the creation of the story and usually at least a week before will start conversations with the media and secure coverage accordingly.

2) Reactive campaigns
As part of our work, keeping up to date, current and relevant to the news is essential whatever message you are trying to send out and this is where reactive campaigns become more applicable. Every day our team is across the latest news and as part of this process we are constantly on the look out for news which is relevant to our clients. If we see something that we think our client could comment on, we will contact them immediately, and find out who is available to comment. Following this, we will reach out to our media contacts and offer our clients for same day interviews. Due to the fact, that we can reach our media contacts so quickly we often get a clients coverage this way and this is how we support our clients in becoming an integral part of the news agenda.

Adaptations based on Covid-19

As Covid-19 hit, everyone had to make adaptations including us and our clients. Throughout this time news was the priority for all, and we wanted to make sure we were a part of that. As a result we formed a Covid-19 spokespeople list. On our list we cover almost every sector and have experts from our clients to comment on a range of things. We are constantly updating this list and taking on new clients who just wish to be added to our spokespeople list which we send to the media each week, securing many interviews across programmes. This has now become a third realm in which is continually developing and will continue to do as the Covid- 19 story continues and following the end of it (hopefully!)
