Challenge: Making Expertise Feel Current for a Time-Poor Audience
Logistics UK approached BR Studio with a brief to create a compelling, content-rich podcast that would provide additional value to their executive members and senior professionals across the transport and logistics sector. The goal was to engage members with deeper insight into industry developments, promote thought leadership, and reflect the diverse voices across road, rail, air, and sea. The format needed to be professional, informative, and resonate with a high-level audience.
Insight: Relevance Beats Reach for a Membership Audience
For a membership body, the challenge isn’t a lack of expertise or research, it’s making that expertise feel current, relevant and accessible.
A regular podcast solved this by turning Logistics UK’s existing insight into an ongoing dialogue. Pairing a senior industry voice with a Logistics UK representative each episode meant the organisation was connecting with the people living the challenges of the industry day to day. That rhythm of conversation gave members a reason to tune in, turning Logistics UK from a source of information into an ongoing presence in their professional lives.
Solution: A Quarterly Series Built Around Investigative Conversation
We developed Leading on Logistics, a quarterly podcast hosted by our own presenter and former BBC producer, Mike Young. Each episode is structured around an in-depth, investigative-style interview between Mike, a senior industry voice as a podcast guest, and a representative from Logistics UK, focusing on a specific challenge or opportunity in the sector. Topics include decarbonisation, skills shortages, and insights from Logistics UK’s latest reports, always with a lens on how businesses are overcoming obstacles and innovating in their space.
Impact: A Trusted, Growing Content Pillar
Leading on Logistics has become a trusted voice in the sector, running successfully for over two years with continued growth in listenership and engagement. The podcast has helped members stay informed, stimulated industry discussion, and even inspired some listeners to volunteer themselves as future guests. It now serves as a key content pillar for Logistics UK, reinforcing their position as a leading authority in the sector while delivering real value to their membership base.
As Rona puts it:
“Podcasting gives you the opportunity for an in-depth look at something where and when you want to absorb it. Working with Broadcast Revolution has changed the way we actually communicate as an organisation.”
